Monica received her Bachelor of Science in Communication Disorders and her Masters of Science in Communication Disorders from Southern Connecticut State University. Monica is a Member of ASHA, the American Speech-Language Hearing Association and maintains her Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC). She holds her Department of Public Health License from the State of Connecticut and her provisional teaching certificate. Monica is fluent in English and Portuguese, and assists in bilingual evaluations as a culturally competent and linguistically diverse Speech-Language Pathologist. Monica is a Level 1 PROMPT trained SLP, with additional training in feeding, oral motor dysfunction and DTTC (Dynamic Temporal Tactile Cueing) used specifically for children with apraxia of speech. In addition, Monica has served as a mentor and Clinical Fellowship supervisor, completing coursework in productive and successful supervision of new and developing SLPs in the field.

Monica has experience working alongside young children, adolescents, & adults within school programs, private practice and outpatient medical facilities. A familiar face in our community events and caregiver information talks- Monica continues to pursue her passion for working with children and their families, in order to provide functional, creative and personalized speech therapy services.  Monica’s insight, keen observations and problem solving abilities when working with families, as well as her general oversight to clinical operations makes her a valuable member of the Speakology team. When she’s not at work, Monica enjoys spending time with her family and friends, with days at the beach, finding new recipes to cook and listening to music.
