Haley has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences from the University of Connecticut and a Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from Sacred Heart University. She holds licensure through Connecticut’s Department of Public Health and has obtained her Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA, the American Speech Language Hearing Association. Haley has completed additional training in Dynamic Tactile and Temporal Cueing (DDTC) and is Level 1 PROMPT trained to support her work with clients who have motor speech disorders, such as apraxia. In addition, Haley has pursued further training in the identification and treatment of orofacial myofunctional disorders and oral placement therapy for speech, feeding and swallowing disorders.
Haley started her journey as a psychology major and contemplated being a school social worker. She has always wanted to work with children and help alleviate some of their daily stressors. She has a passion for facilitating communication and healthy interactions which led her down the path of speech and language pathology. Haley appreciates that Speech-Language Pathologists have the ability to work with anyone across the lifespan. In particular, Haley loves working with individuals who have social language impairments, speech sound disorders, and those who utilize Augmentative Alternative Communication (AAC) devices. Haley has experience working in both private and public special education schools.
Haley’s goal is to create an open environment that welcomes neurodiversity and all of our differences. Haley enjoys playing with her two puppies, roller skating, being creative, and spending time with friends/family.
Haley has made such a difference in Ben’s life. She demands the best that he can do and supports him in achieving it. Ben loves going to his sessions – he feels valued and heard and knows he’s gaining skills. Not only has she helped improve his communication, she has gone out of her way to seek our feedback and to suggest other activities and programs that might benefit Ben.
Haley, like all the Speakology staff that we’ve had the pleasure of working with, is great at what she does!
