Passionate, committed and skilled – meet Emily!
Emily received her Bachelor of Science in Communication Disorders and her Masters of Science in Speech Language Pathology from Southern Connecticut State University. Emily is a member of ASHA, the American Speech-Language Hearing Association and has her Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC). Emily holds her Department of Public Health License from the State of Connecticut and her provisional Teaching Certificate. She is a Level 1 PROMPT trained SLP, with additional training in feeding, oral motor dysfunction, tethered oral tissues, Gestalt Language Processing, LAMP, Dynamic Temporal Tactile Cueing (DTTC) and the Kaufman Speech to Language Protocol. Emily has also completed coursework in the supervision and mentoring of graduate students and new SLPs in the field.
Emily is a skilled clinician who provides clinical oversight to Speakology operations. She oversees therapeutic operations, provides consultations and support to the entire Speakology team, and participates in various evaluations within our clinical setting. Emily is a “go-to” resource and a tremendous asset to the Speakology family. She has worked tirelessly to be a strong advocate and practitioner committed to excellence to ensure she is truly meeting clients where they’re at, accelerating learning, and celebrating their successes in partnership with their caregivers. Emily has experience in private practice, school programs, and hospital settings, and has worked with individuals of all ages. As a bilingual Speech-Language Pathologist, she oversees and completes comprehensive evaluations in both English and Spanish for children who are complex communicators.
Emily is adept at providing remote services that connect families with individualized strategies specific to each individual’s strengths and unique needs. She is a highly creative individual who is unwavering in her commitment and support of the clients she serves. Emily utilizes a collaborative approach amongst other medical and service providers, schools and families. Her ability to build a positive rapport with clients, as well as to connect with families, creates a strong partnership that advances and accelerates client progress.
