Mariana holds her Masters of Arts degree in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Connecticut and holds the Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA, the American Speech Language Hearing Association.
Mariana has worked with children in both special education and public school settings, inpatient hospital care and outpatient facilities. Her interests include helping individuals with speech sound disorders, social pragmatic disorders and language impairments reach their desired goals. Mariana has completed training in principles of motor learning, including Dynamic Tactile and Temporal Cueing (DDTC) and is PROMPT Level 1 trained. Mariana is working to expand her knowledge in the use of augmentative and alternative communication. She enjoys learning about her clients to create unique treatment approaches that are functional and meaningful. Mariana prides herself on providing a welcoming environment by greeting everyone with a smile and making them feel special each time she sees them.
When not working, you can find Mariana reading, spending time at the beach and enjoying life with friends and family, including her two nieces!
