Lisa is an experienced educator of 20+ years in public schools where her roles included classroom teacher, reading specialist, and instructional coach. She has led and facilitated PLC teams working to understand student data and develop action plans, served on district-wide Instructional Leadership teams focused on curriculum and instruction, and designed and delivered a variety of professional development sessions grounded in the science of reading and evidence-based practices. Lisa earned a B.S. in Education from Central Connecticut State University, an M.Ed from the University of Saint Joseph, and K-12 Remedial Reading and Language Arts Certification from Albertus Magnus College. She has completed LETRS training, is Orton Gillingham trained at the Associate level, and earned certification as a Structured Literacy Teacher through CERI. Lisa also teaches as an Adjunct Professor for Albertus Magnus College.
Lisa believes that the right to read is a fundamental human right and that with informed and supported educators all children can become skillful and proficient readers and writers.
Lisa brings with her a wealth of knowledge for Speakology clients and staff, serving as a consultant working with our clients who have identified challenges with reading and requiring intensive supports.
